Code of Conduct
Please note that by attending the PVMUN III, you agree to adhere to the following guidelines, as well as possible future guidelines decided at the discretion of the PVMUN Secretariat Board.
On behalf of your PVMUN secretariat board, thank you!
Inappropriate Behavior, Harassment, Hazing, and Discrimination Policy
PVMUN does not tolerate under any circumstances, inappropriate behavior, harassment, hazing, and discrimination. At any point during the conference, if a delegate feels that their personal rights, boundaries, or identity/ies has been violated by another delegate or PVMUN staff member, they are strongly encouraged to speak with someone of the Secretariat Board. All accusations or complaints will be investigated by the Secretariat Board. If the said accused delegate is found in violation of conference policies, they will be asked to leave the conference, and may even be banned from ever returning based on the circumstance. If the said circumstance goes above PVMUN conference policies, and violates any laws, Amherst Police will be summoned.
Tobacco, Drugs, Alcohol, Illicit Substances, Weapons, and Firearms
PVMUN prohibits the use and possession of tobacco, drugs, alcohol, illicit substances, weapons, and firearms for the entire duration of the conference. Delegates who are confirmed to possess such prohibited substances and items, will be asked to leave the conference, and may even be banned from ever returning based on the circumstance. If the said circumstance goes above PVMUN conference policies, and violates any laws, Amherst Police will be summoned.
Theft and Valuables Policy
PVMUN and The University of Massachusetts, Amherst, are not responsible for the loss or theft of any delegate’s personal property. We strongly encourage delegates to either securely store your valuables, or refrain from bringing them to the conference. If you believe that an item has been stolen by another delegate during a committee session, please speak to someone on the Secretariat Board and we will do our best to help locate the missing item. If an item is stolen outside of PVMUN, please contact the Amherst Police Department.
Academic Dishonesty Policy
All content such as crisis notes, directives, working papers, and draft resolutions, is to be written only during scheduled committee sessions. Delegates suspected of violating this policy will be investigated by the Secretariat Board. If the said delegate is found to have broken this policy, they may be given a warning or asked to leave the conference. Any plagiarized content will be seized, deleted, and removed from the conference.
Technology Policy
As it relates to the General Assembly, computers are only to be used during Unmoderated Caucuses or at the discretion of the Head Chair. Crisis Committees will be 'Paper Crisis' Committees; Delegates will not be allowed access to computers or phones during these committees (please note that delegates will be provided with legal pads). Delegates may not be on their phones during committee sessions and repeated failure to adhere to this policy will likely result in reaction seen fit by the PVMUN Secretariat Board. Additionally, the use of AI during, before, or in between committees is strictly prohibited; there is no need for it, and it is in violation with our values as a secretariat.
Thank you in advance for your compliance! We wish you a great conference!
