Despite the efforts of Arctic states to maintain stability and peace in the region, the Arctic remains a polarizing global conflict. Demilitarization in the Arctic refers to the effort to promote peaceful cooperation.

The Partition of India
In 1947, British India became two states: the Union of India and the Dominion of Pakistan. While the partition of India dissolved the British Raj and thus freed the subcontinent from colonialism, it also led to one of the largest mass migrations in human history. Approximately twelve to fifteen million people faced displacement; somewhere between five hundred thousand to two million people died. Delegates must discuss diplomatically to work towards a solution.
